The Question Everyone Asks
Running a site like this costs real money. Every image in the gallery is hosted and served to thousands of visitors, the prompt library is curated and tested by hand, and the bandwidth bill grows with every new reader. So when a site offers hundreds of tested prompts with no account, no credits, and no paywall, "what's the catch?" is exactly the right question to ask — and you deserve a straight answer rather than marketing language.
The short version: Ashel AI is advertising-supported, run lean by a solo developer, and currently in beta. This post explains what each of those three things means for you in practice.
How the Ads Actually Fund It
You will see banner placements around the site and a short ad the first time you unlock a prompt. That advertising revenue pays for the hosting, the bandwidth, and the curation work behind the gallery. It is a simple, old-fashioned trade: you see ads, everything stays free.
We are deliberate about what we do not do. We do not sell your data. We do not require accounts or social logins. We do not lock the best prompts behind a paid tier — the prompts are the content, and they are all free. The unlock step exists so the ads that fund the site actually get seen; after one unlock, prompts copy in a single click for the rest of your session.
If you use an ad blocker, we ask you to whitelist the site rather than paywalling you — that choice keeps access equal for users who cannot pay, which is the point of the whole model.
What "Beta" Means Here
The beta label is honest in both directions. Beta means the site is still evolving: new prompts and collections ship continuously, the gallery gets refined in public, and rough edges get fixed as readers report them.
It also means the current everything-free arrangement is the present state, not a legal guarantee of the future. If economics force a change someday, the commitment we can make now is: a meaningful free tier stays, existing users get clear advance notice, and prompts you already copied are yours forever. What we will not do is the dark-pattern playbook — luring users in free and silently degrading the experience until paying is the only escape.
How You Can Support the Project
If Ashel AI is useful to you, the ways to help are all free too:
Share what you make. Posting your results — and linking the prompt page you started from — is what convinces new users the prompts actually work. More users make the ad model sustainable.
Report what breaks. A short message through the contact page about a broken prompt or a confusing screen genuinely shapes what gets fixed next. Solo-developer projects run on this feedback.
Whitelist the site in your ad blocker. It is the entire business model in one click.
That is the whole honest picture: ads in, hosting and curation out, no hidden data trade in the middle. More about who builds this and why is on the about page.
